Two In One Day? I know!! :)

Hiya! This is my second post of the day, so please scroll down to see my other posting. I normally don't post more than once a day, but I had to get this done in time to submit it for SPCC16. Today is the cut off day, and I'm running behind. These colors are freaking awesome together so I really wanted to play along. Unfortunately, I had a bit of trouble getting my idea out of my head and onto my card. I didn't get this done until last night. I told my supervisor I was taking some extra time at lunch so I could get this done. See, I'm dedicated, right? Maybe more obsessive. LOL Anyway, here is my card. It didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned it, but it's close. And I'm happy with it. I'm SO happy I broke down and got the SU! Butterfly die. These butterflies are absolutely gorgeous! I went with the whole less is more idea for this card. I think it really gives it a clean look. I like the fact that SU! offers their stamps in both English and Spanish. I'm the only one in my office who speaks English as a first language, so these are great. Ahh, I feel like I've accomplished my goal. Now I'm off to post this on the SPCC site!

I hope you enjoy my card, and I will be back tomorrow with another something. Hugs!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #50

Hiya! It's another Cuttlebug Spot challenge Monday! This week our challenge is to create a Fall project. I LOVE FALL! It's my favorite season, even if we only get a couple days of it. LOL I really love all of the fall projects that people have been creating lately too. Aren't they all fantastic?! I hadn't used Rich Razzleberry much, so I decided to start with that color and came up with this: I used THIS sketch, and I am happy with my card. This stamp set (Harvest Expressions Clear Stamps from Inkadinkado) totally rocks. You'll be seeing more of it over the next couple weeks. I think I'm more excited that my knot turned out as nice as it did (you all know how I am about tying bows). LOL The wonderful design team over at The Cuttlebug Spot have put together some amazing stuff for your viewing pleasure today. I hope you'll go check them out, and play along with us! Have a wonderful day! Supplies Paper: SU! Rich Razzleberry & Whisper White cardstock, CM Tan & Olive cardstock, Recollections Random Fall Leaves PP Ink: Antique Linen Distress Ink, SU! Unscripted Sketches #25

Are you as excited as I am that today is Saturday?! I've waited ALL week for it to get here. LOL Being that it's Saturday, it's time for another Unscripted Sketches challenge. I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy each weeks sketches. They're simply fabulous! See what I mean? I wanted to challenge myself to another monochromatic card. Now, I like pink, but my niece LOVES pink. So, this is a cute little birthday card just for her. My card is 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 and I think it is so cute! I've got some extra cash saved up and am headed out to a few places to see if I can find some things that I can alter. I feel like I'm in a rut and need to do more than just cards and layouts. Anyone else get like that? Anyway, I'm done rambling. I hope you'll head over to Unscripted Sketches and see what our fabulous design team have created for you this week. They're nothing short of amazing and inspiring! Have a wonderful weekend! Supplies Paper: JoAnn's Pink cardstock, SU! Melon Mambo cardstock, Prism Light Pink cardstock, SU! Chocolate Chips in the Cookies of Life

Hey everyone! I've had this cute little $1 stamp in my stash for quite a while, and I decided it was time to use it. I needed a pick me up type card for one of my good friends, and thought he'd enjoy this. He LOVES my chocolate chip cookies too, so I thought this was perfect. I'm going to make him a couple dozen cookies and hand deliver them with my card. Now, I tried some different things with this card. First it's a long card, that I used vertically instead of horizontally. I like that it's tall, but then I don't like that it's SO tall. Does that make sense? Next, I like that the Drippy Goo punch is versatile. Now that I've found it, I'm going to try to use it on just about everything I can! I think it kinda looks like chocolate frosting along the side. Yum! Lastly, it took me quite a while to get that long piece of cardstock embossed from one end to the other. I've heard people say it's easy, but apparently it isn't easy for me. I think I tried this four or five times before it came out decent enough to use it.

Most of my cards are hit or miss with me, and I think this one missed. By a long shot! I'm not digging it much, but my friend is a guy, so I doubt he'll care. LOL So, what do ya'll think? Yay or nay? All opinions welcome! :) Hugs!

How Beautiful

Hey ya'll! I've had this stamp set for a while now, and so far, I've only used the flowers. I decided it was time to ink up more of the other stamps in the set. It really is a beautiful set of stamps. Did you guys check out Verve's new releases?! Oh my gosh, I want them all! Thank goodness my birthday is coming up. *wink* I love the sentiment and plan on using it as a thank you for a good friend of mine. These papers are some I've had for a while too. I must have been in the mood to use up some of my stash. I think my stash is going to come in very handy in helping me with the different sized cards I want to make. I love this circle card. I think it's one of my favorites, so far. So what about you? Do you have a favorite card you've created recently? I'd love to see it! Link it up in the comments section so that we can all take a peek at it and share some love! :) Have a great day!

My First Time...

...participating at 365 Cards. Haha, did that title get you thinking? Good, now get your minds out of the gutter. LOL I feel like I'm running out of titles. I've almost had my blog for a year (yay, almost blog candy time again!) and I don't want to repeat things over and over. Maybe I'll have to start finding some cute sayings or quotes or something. Hopefully you'll keep visiting to see what I come up with. :) So anyway, onto my card. THIS sketch was posted on Sunday, and here is what I came up with. I love how simple it is and I got to play with some more of my new goodies I just got. One of my co-workers has a birthday this week, and this is her birthday card. It makes me happy that everyone in my office always looks forward to receiving their cards each year. They even go as far as reminding me they have a birthday coming up. LOL That is just one more reason I absolutely love this hobby! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I Made The Top 5!

Oh my gosh! Thanks to a comment on THIS card, I found out that I made the Top 5 at SPCC this week! I had no idea and I can't believe it! I'm honored to be considered among the group of amazing women chosen this week. And to think, that card was my least favorite of all my Halloween cards! It's a nice pick me up after the day I've had. :)

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

So I got some new goodies recently and I wanted to hurry up and play with them. Now, I know I've said that I'm totally loving a couple of the new In Colors from SU!, but I think I'm loving most of the new In Colors. LOL I love how rich this Crushed Curry is. It's unlike any other yellow I've ever seen, and I love how bold it is without being over powering. Does that make sense? Anyway, I used THIS AmyR sketch and came up with this: Aren't those butterflies gorgeous?! I'm in heaven with them! I pop dotted one on top of the other and distressed the edges with Melon Mambo to match the flower. I'm going to have so much fun playing with my new goodies! I can't wait to share everything with you guys! Much love!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #49

Hi ya'll! Did you have a good weekend? Has fall started to settle into your areas yet? We keep getting small glimpses of fall, but then it's gone and it's hot again. I'm SO waiting for the time of year where I can wrap up in a sweater on the porch with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book (ie: Twilight), and not have to worry about being dragged off by the huge mosquitos. LOL I suppose I should be used to the heat and the mosquitos living in Texas. *sigh* It's Monday which means it's time for another Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This weeks challenge is a bit more special, so to say, than others in the past. This week Nilda asked us to use the very first technique that was the first challenge posted a year ago, inking your embossing folders. Speaking of last year also, The Cuttlebug Spot will be celebrating it's first year anniversary this week! Don't forget to check back to see what fabulous things will be posted! So for my card, I used THIS sketch with THIS color combo. I'm loving it! It's actually quite a neat color combo. I think I'm loving Bermuda Bay now too. It's a fabulous shade of aqua/teal. I will definitely be using this color often as well! I wanted this to be more of a masculine card, so I used the opposite side of the Dusty Durango polka dot ribbon. I like that the ribbon doesn't have polka dots on both sides so that you can use a solid ribbon occassionally. I hope that you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see what my fellow DT members have created for you today. They're all super fab, as always! Have a wonderful day! Supplies Paper: Kraft cardstock, SU! Bermuda Bay & Whisper White cardstock Ink: SU! Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango & Soft Suede Classic Ink Stamps: Stampabilities Mesh Background, SU! So Many Scallops Accessories: Cuttlebug, Happy Birthday/Allegro/Number Collage Embossing Folders, Martha Stewart Eyelet Border Punch, Labels 1 Nestabilities, Silver Glitter Brads, SU! Dusty Durango Grosgrain Ribbon, Pop Dots

Bittersweet

Hey ya'll! I was checking my Christmas card list this morning before I headed over to Sparkle's blog. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anyone. Upon doing this, I came to the realization that I only had one card left to make. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm totally excited that all of my Christmas cards are now done, but I can't help feeling a bit sad that I no longer need anymore cards to make for Sparkle's challenge each week. We've been making cards all year and I have reached the end of this wonderful challenge she started for us. I'm having a hard time understanding why I feel so emotional over this. Stephen says I'm PMSing. Leave it to him to say something like that. He'll never understand. LOL For this week she challenged us to use THIS sketch. I liked the sketch, and was quite excited to find more Christmas paper I forgot I had. I love the holly leaves I cut out too. You should head over to Sparkle's blog to see her fabulous card, and maybe play along. It's never to early to start on Christmas cards! :) Have a great afternoon!

Isn't He The Cutest?!

So, yesterday's card was supposed to be the last of my Halloween cards. But, while I was looking through some stamped images I forgot I had (go figure) I found this cute little guy. I couldn't help myself. I know exactly who will be receiving this card too! I used THIS sketch. Now that I'm looking at this card, I realize I forgot a sentiment. I didn't intentionally leave it off, I truly forgot. I guess I was so excited it had stopped raining for a few minutes, that I rushed out to get my picture taken even though it was unfinished. Oh well, it's still cute. I think I'm going to try a few smaller cards next. I'm getting a bit bored of the standard A2 size. I realize that I'm becoming more of a card maker and less of a scrapbooker these days too. I may have to put myself on a card making ban for a bit to get caught up with my scrapbooking. LOL I'll be back soon with another post! Hugs!

Unscripted Sketches #24

Hi everyone! Are you sick of my Halloween cards yet? LOL I promise I'm almost done for this year. I'm almost done with my Christmas cards too, and I started on my Thanksgiving cards. Talk about productive! So here is my take on this weeks Unscripted sketch. I always struggle with sketches like this, ones that have elements that have to be lined up. I'm completely OCD so my stuff never looks completely straight to me. It takes me FOREVER to get them to the point where I'm ok with how they look. This took me the longest to create out of all of the cards I made this past week. I have to say that I think it's totally adorable though. Great sketch this week, as always. I hope you'll head over to Unscripted Sketches to see what my friends have created for you today. They're all pretty amazing, as usual. Hopefully you'll get to play along with us this week too! Hugs! Supplies Paper: SU! More Mustard & Whisper White cardstock, Creative Memories Olive cardstock, DCWV Fall Glitter Mat Stack Ink: Ranger Black Archival Ink, Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink Stamps: SU! Guess what?!

It's another Halloween card! Didn't see that coming at all, did ya? LOL This card was really quite difficult for me to pull together. I wasn't sure I was even going to post this. I believe that all of you will be honest with me though and tell me what it's missing. I paired THIS sketch with THIS color combo challenge and got this. I suppose the skull is a bit cute, and I did get to use my Drippy Goo punch (love it!) again. So in all, it's not a total loss. Maybe it will grow on me. I hope you've had a fantastic week! Hugs!

Time For A Little Brewhaha! :)

Hey ya'll! So this sentiment sounds SO like me! I hate to admit it, but I have been known to cause a little "brewhaha" on occassion. What exaclty is brewhaha you say? Well, honestly, I have no idea. But it sounds like trouble to me, and I like trouble. The good kind anyway. Too bad not everyone is always up for participating with me, those party poopers! LOL This was a really fun card to make too. I used my new Drippy Goo punch that had also been forgotten because it was in a drawer. I remember having a friend of mine from Denver go to Archiver's and buy it and ship it to me last year. I looked EVERYWHERE for one. And then I forgot it. Go figure! Now you all know of my love for AmyR's sketches. Other than my Unscripted Sketches, I tend to use Amy's sketches second most. I'm not sure what it is about them that I find so appealing, but I love them! I used THIS sketch for my card today and again, it was awesome! :)

I think Halloween is my favorite holiday. I LOVE seeing all of the kiddos dressed up in their costumes, and I love that the weather is cooler, and I secretly love all of the candy too! I think we consume about as much as we give out each year. Shh, don't tell my mom! LOL I'm hoping that the little ones this year are as cute as they were last year. My favorite last Halloween was a 2 year old Yoda. Oh my gosh, I wanted to eat him up!! He was SO stinkin cute!

Alright, I'm done ranting for today. I hope you have a good one! Hugs!

P.S. I have been asked several times as to which stamp set the witch came from on my card from Tuesday. It's a clear stamp set from Inkadinkado called All Hallows Eve. I got mine at JoAnn's. :)

Another Halloween Card & Some Clean Up

Happy Humpday! I hope everyone has had a good week, so far. I was working on this post when I got the itch to change a few things on my blog. For some reason I seem to be "nesting". Now before you get all excited, I'm not pregnant. Every fall I go through a phase where I want to clean and reorganize everything in sight. The blog-o was one of those things that got cleaned up a bit. It began to feel a bit cluttered to me, so I changed up a few things, and got rid of some things too. I hope no one takes offense, or feels hurt, that I've removed all of my blog awards and most of my blinkies. I did save them, for the time when I want to re-post them. I just needed to see if this clean up thing would be enough to satisfy my need to "nest". In a couple months or so I'm sure there will be another change. Alright, I'm done yappin! Onto my card! :) It's another Halloween card. Are you surprised? LOL I used THIS sketch for my card. I love these sketches too! I tried to use at least one color that I wouldn't normally put in something Halloween-ish. I think the brown goes well with the other colors though. I had completely forgotten I owned this stamp set from SU! called Just Between Friends. That's what happens when I put things up on a shelf where I can't see them. I love the sentiments in this set. They're adorable! I embossed the patterned paper with the Skull Scroll embossing folder and sanded it a bit so that it would show better. I love the tiny spider too. Fun card to make! Have a wonderful day!

Halloween

Hiya! Let the parade of Halloween cards begin! LOL By the end of the week I'm sure you'll be completely sick of seeing my Halloween cards. I'm happy to say that I got all of them done, so I can play along with a few challenges I've neglected recently. I enjoyed my much needed break, and got lots done. So for this first card I used THIS sketch. I modified it a bit though. I really love this witch image. She's really fun and not as scary as some are. I stamped the spider web in white pigment ink then embossed with white embossing powder and cut it out. I'm making a couple more identical to this one. I love the way they turned out. Have a great day!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #48

Hi everyone! I've missed posting, and visiting all of the blogs I frequent, but I got a much needed break, and I accomplished a lot. It's Monday, and I'm gearing up for another long work week. I will have a few crafty things posted for you this week though. This weeks Cuttlebug Spot challenge was to make embossed confetti. I had never done this before, and the picture doesn't really do it justice, but it's really cool looking in person. I altered an old Prima container and paired this project with Color Throwdown #59. I loved these fall colors together! Isn't this cute? I embossed all of the cardstock with different embossing folders, cut strips and folded them accordion style. I then stretched them back out to create longer pieces of embossed confetti. I'm going to add some chocolates to this and give it to my assistant at work. I think she'll enjoy it. I hope you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see what other fabulous projects the DT have created for you. They rock, as always! Hugs! Supplies Paper: SU! Close to Cocoa, Whisper White & Ruby Red cardstock, JoAnn's Orange cardstock Ink: SU! Taking A Short Break

Hey everyone! Things are really quite hectic and busy around here so I will be taking a short break from posting. I will be back on Monday with the next Cuttlebug Spot challenge. Don't forget to visit my friends on Saturday at Unscripted Sketches! Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs!

Scraplifting

In all of the years that I've been paper crafting, I've only once scraplifted from someone else. I do believe that sometimes copying someone can be flattering, but with all of the ideas out there, I tend to not do it that often. When I saw THIS card that my friend Caryl did though, I just had to CASE her and scraplift the idea. I, of course, changed up the theme and colors, but I used the same layout she did. I hope she thinks I did ok. :) I now only need three more Christmas cards and I'm done with all of them for this year. I'm so relieved that I won't be rushing around at the last minute trying to finish them all. I hope you'll head over to Caryl's blog to see all of her fantastic projects. She's truly inspiring! Have a Happy Hump Day!

A Video To Share

So I came across another video that I think everyone can enjoy. I hope this brings a smile to your face as it did mine. If only this kind of thing would happen often, maybe we'd all get along better. Isn't this fantastic?! Enjoy! It's back to work for me today. I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #47

Hey ya'll! Sorry this is so late. While you're all enjoying this post today, I'm still on vacation in San Antonio with my friends and family. Betcha didn't even know I was gone, huh? I will be headed home this afternoon and then it's back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone has had a wonderful extended weekend! It's time for another Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week our challenge was to create a project with a bird on it. Now, before you say anything, I'd like to point out the obvious. I forgot to use my Cuttlebug on this project. *shaking head* I know, I know! It's a Cuttlebug challenge, and I forget the main ingredient. Believe me, I feel very foolish for that. I did however, remember the bird! LOL It's a cute card. I used THIS sketch. I hope you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot and see what my fellow DT members have created for you, including their Cuttlebug. :) Have a wonderful day! Supplies Paper: SU! Basic Gray cardstock, SU! Jazzy Inspirations #19

Hello again! This is my second post, so don't forget to scroll down for my first one of the day. It's time again for another Jazzy Inspirations challenge. This week Tenia chose a Dizzy Gillespie & Ella Fitzgerald poster. The colors in this inspiration piece are light blue, purple, and white with a touch of dark purple. These colors are fabulous together! I paired them with THIS sketch. I love being able to have a sketch and a color combo to put together. Believe me, without these kinds of things available to me, I'd be lost! I have to say that I'm quite pleased with this card. It turned out much better than I expected. I've had this patterned paper in my stash since I first started scrapbooking in 2003. Yep, I know, I'm a hoarder. I think the problem was that I thought it was nice, and then forgot about it. That should tell you how much paper I've got stashed. LOL I am also pretty happy with my cool little embossed vellum flower. I ran the vellum through my CB with my Swiss Dots folder then inked the raised side with Elegant Eggplant ink. I dried it a bit with my heat gun and punched out two flowers. I used my stylus on a mousepad to get the petals to turn up a bit. You can't tell from the picture, but they're layered with a pop dot for added dimension. I hope you'll head over and play along with us at Jazzy Inspirations this week. My fellow DT members have put together some really nice stuff for you. Why not enter to be the Jazz Cat of the week? Hugs! Supplies Paper: SU! Elegant Eggplant & Whisper White cardstock, DCWV Light Blue Textured cardstock, Purple Floral PP, White Vellum Paper Ink: SU! Unscripted Sketches #22

Howdy! I've finished all but a couple of my Christmas cards for this year so now I've switched gears to Halloween and Thanksgiving. As most of you know, I am a huge fan of using non-traditional colors for my holiday projects. I happen to come upon a new color combo challenge blog called SPCC. I love their color choices, they rock! I paired one of their challenges with this weeks Unscripted Sketch. I will let you in on a little secret. This card is the fourth one I made, just for this challenge. I kept creating things that I was competely unhappy with, and they were nowhere close to being worthy of posting. I finally had inspiration hit in the middle of the night and this is what I wound up with. I really like it. I flipped it, and added a couple of rounded edges, and was done. :) You'll have to head over to Unscripted Sketches to see what the other designers have created for today. You'll LOVE them! I'm always so excited to get a sneak peek at their projects, but even more excited when they are posted on Saturday morning for all to see. We've got some amazing talent on our DT, and even more amazing friends who participate! Big hugs ya'll! Have a happy Saturday! Supplies Paper: SU! Another First

Woo Hoo, it's Friday! :) So here is another one of the first layouts I created. This one also uses photos from the same sitting as my first layout. Gosh, looking back on these, it's so hard to believe my baby isn't such a baby anymore. She's actually going to be quite tall. I stand 5'5, and she's almost eye level with me already. Good thing she wants to play volleyball! :D So for now, I will continue to reminisce about the day these pictures were taken. Ahh, my sweet angel. I can only hope she knows how much I love her! Have a great weekend!

Birthday Wishes

Hola! I wanted to post this card quick before I head to work. Today is my co-workers birthday so I made her a card. I got this photo from Mathilda and absolutely love the way the card turned out. Isn't it pretty?! I have been in love with using photos on my cards these days, but by the time I think about getting pictures of them, they've already been given away. Go figure! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day! Hugs!

My First Layout Ever

Hi ya'll! This weekend my friend and fellow US DT member, Hollie, shared a peek into her scrapbook. She wanted us to see a few layouts that she did when she first started scrappin. I thought this was a fabulous idea! I had acutally been thinking about doing the same, but she beat me to it. So here is the first, of many, layouts I did when I first started scrapbooking in 2003. Actually, this is the first layout I did EVER! This is my Sydneybean. She was six months old in this picture, and the reason I started scrapbooking. Isn't she adorable at six months?! I absolutely loved these pictures of her. She was so proud of herself too, sitting all by herself. Gosh, how time flies! She'll now be 13 on the 1st of November. Instead of being proud for doing something good, she's been grounded quite frequently for doing something she's not supposed to. Guess it comes with the age, and territory. And my mom said I was going to be in big trouble with her because I was quite the handful for her. I now know what she means! LOL

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the look at my first layout. I will be back throughout the month with more layouts and cards from way back when. I think it's cool to compare the then and now and see how I've evolved over the years. Now I wonder, are any of you brave enough to share some of your first layouts with us? If so, let me know so Hollie and I can check them out! :)
